Obert Chinhamo is the Regional Director of ACT-SA. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA), BA in English & Communication Studies, Post Graduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management, PRINCE2 Certification, Further Education Teachers Certificate in Education, Paralegal Certification, and other qualifications in human resources management and accounting.  Chinhamo served in different capacities in non-governmental organizations in Zimbabwe and South Africa that include: Legal Resources Foundation (LRF), the Zimbabwe Human Rights Association (ZimRights), Amnesty International Zimbabwe, and Amnesty International South Africa. Chinhamo is the recipient of the 2014 Community Human Rights Defenders Award as well as the 2015 Giraffe Heroes Award. Previously, Chinhamo served in different capacities in organisations that include the United Nations. He was the Civil Society Coordinator for Southern Africa under the United Nations officer on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), Project Manager for UNDP/UNV in Uganda, Programme Officer for UNDP/UNV in Namibia, and Consultant for UNDP/UNV in Ethiopia. He brings this wealth of experience in management and programming to ACT-SA.
