Kudzwai Gokova
Kudzwai J Gokova is a duly registered lawyer in the High Court of Zimbabwe, specializing in social and economic justice. She works as a Programmes Officer at the Zimbabwe Coalition on Debt and Development (ZIMCODD). With a profound commitment to advancing social and economic rights, Kudzwai has emerged as a prominent advocate for marginalized communities, particularly focusing on the intersectionality of women's issues and women's economic empowerment. Her work revolves around promoting transparency and accountability in public finance management, addressing systemic inequalities and advocating for policies and initiatives that prioritize the rights and well-being of marginalized groups, particularly women. With extensive experience in the social and economic justice field, Kudzwai possesses a deep understanding of legal frameworks and mechanisms, enabling her to effectively navigate complex issues and advocate for transformative change
Elizabeth Mangenje
Elizabeth Mangenje has a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from the University of Zimbabwe. She was awarded the prestigious Chevening scholarship in the United Kingdom. She holds a Masters of Law in International Human Rights Law (Economic Relations) from the University of Essex (2017, with Distinction). Before joining the International Commission of Jurists (ICJ) as a Legal Adviser in July 2018,Elizabeth Mangenje was a Projects Lawyer at Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR). She has also worked as a Legal Researcher for various independent legal and political consultants. She has experience in legal and policy research and analysis in various areas including health, disability rights and access to justice for minority groups. She is passionate about business and human rights and conducts a lot of research in this area. Ms. Mangenje was once quoted saying “International and domestic standards on responsible business mean nothing once the gatekeepers engage in corruption with impunity. Conducting responsible business means saying no to corruption at all levels and in all its forms”
Adv. Michael Majuru
Advocate Majuru has been a Judge of the Administrative Court of Zimbabwe prior to which he had held senior positions within the Criminal and Civil Divisions of the Attorney-General’s Office (Zimbabwe) from which positions he practiced in the highest Courts of the country in addition to being a member to several key national committees for and on behalf of the Attorney-General. Advocate Majurun has practiced with the Advocates’ Chambers (2014-15). Currently he privately consults in specialised areas of the law such as: constitutional law, constitutional interpretation, human rights, gender equality, criminal law, criminal procedure among others. He is religiously committed to fighting against the scourge of corruption which he is of the firm and unalterable conviction that corruption lies at the few topmost ills bedeviling Zimbabwe.
Alouis Munyaradzi Chaumba
Alouis Munyaradzi Chaumba is the current Executive Director of the Development Education and Research Trust of Southern Africa (DERT-SA). Alouis Chaumba is the former National Director of the Catholic Commission for Peace and Justice in Zimbabwe (CCJPZ). He holds an MBA from the University of Zimbabwe. and a Bachelor's Degree in Education from the same.
Vimbai Mutandwa
Vimbai Mutandwa is a lawyer with experience working in anti-corruption, governance, and human rights. She has a keen interest in issues focused on gender, children’s rights and human rights. She currently holds a Masters degree in Human Rights and International Politics from the University of Glasgow, Scotland, an LLB from the University of Birmingham, UK and BA in Political Science from the University of Prince Edward Island.
Advocate Gabriel Shumba
Advocate Gabriel Shumba is an Advocate of the High Court of South Africa with right of appearance up to the Constitutional Court. He is based in Pretoria. He holds a Masters of Law Degree in Human Rights and Democratization in Africa from the University of Pretoria, in partnership with the University of Ghana. He graduated from the University of Zimbabwe with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) in 2000. Advocate Shumba is the founder of the Zimbabwe Exiles Forum (ZEF) based in South Africa. |
Maxwell Moyo
Maxwell Moyo is a renowned educationist and miner with extensive experience in investigating and responding against corruption in the extractive sector. In addition, Mr. Moyo has extensive experience in community organising that includes building relationships,empowering the communities, mobilizing resources and creating sustainable change.
Obert Chinhamo
Obert Chinhamo is the Regional Director of ACT-SA. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA), BA in English & Communication Studies, Post Graduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management, PRINCE2 Certification, Further Education Teachers Certificate in Education, Paralegal Certification, and other qualifications in human resources management and accounting. Chinhamo served in different capacities in non-governmental organizations in Zimbabwe and South Africa that include: Legal Resources Foundation (LRF), the Zimbabwe Human Rights Association (ZimRights), Amnesty International Zimbabwe, and Amnesty International South Africa. Chinhamo is the recipient of the 2014 Community Human Rights Defenders Award as well as the 2015 Giraffe Heroes Award. Previously, Chinhamo served in different capacities in organisations that include the United Nations. He was the Civil Society Coordinator for Southern Africa under the United Nations officer on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), Project Manager for UNDP/UNV in Uganda, Programme Officer for UNDP/UNV in Namibia, and Consultant for UNDP/UNV in Ethiopia. He brings this wealth of experience in management and programming to ACT-SA.
Sarah Tobhi Motha
Sarah Motha holds a Master in International Law from Wits University, founder of Umphakatsi Peace Ecovillage and CEO for the Civil Society Media Africa. She is a human rights defender and a traditional doctor with interest in ecofeminism, indigenous knowledge systems, ecological justice and eco-therapeutic modalities to deal with mental health.
She has worked for organizations such as Amnesty International, Wits University. European Union, and Foundation for Human Rights. She is an ambassador for the Global Ecovillage Network in Africa, Strategy Manager for Black Womxn Caucus and Acting Director for Anti Corruption Trust Southern Africa (Pretoria Office). She appears in various public media platforms and has facilitated more than 300 sessions for capacity building and advocacy in various human rights topics. Her work has been presented and published internationally

Dr. Prosper Simbarashe Maguchu
Dr. Maguchu served in different capacities in various organizations and universities. He is a Guest Researcher at the Groningen University. In Zimbabwe, Dr. Maguchu was a Projects Lawyer with the Zimbabwe Human Rights NGO Forum. He also taught Transitional Management, Business and Human Rights at the University of Giessen in Germany. Dr. Maguchu is a Doctor Juris (Ph.D. or S.J.D. equivalent) from the University of Giessen. He holds an LL.M in Transnational Criminal Justice from the University of the Western Cape in conjunction with the Humboldt University of Berlin. Dr. Maguchu also holds an LL.B Honors from the University of Zimbabwe
Brenna Matendere
Brenna Matendere is a seasoned communications expert who recently completed the prestigious Robert Murrow International Visitor Leadership Programme in the United States.After completing the course, he was admitted into the pool of persons with United States alumni status. He has 16 years experience in journalism where he has won several awards including the 2023 Investigative Journalism award on Commercial Crimes sponsored by the Zimbabwe Anti Corruption Commission (ZACC). He is a holder of a Honours Degree in English and Communication from Midlands State University. He is also a national executive member of the Zimbabwe Union of Journalists where he holds the post of national organising secretary.
Mirriam Ndlovu
Before joining ACT-SA, Mirima Ndlovu was a Paralegal Officer with the Zimbabwe Human Rights Association (ZimRights). She has a Paralegal Certificate. Ms. Ndlovu also volunteers her services to other organizations that include ZimRights and Zimbabwe Peace Project (ZPP) among others.

Mr. Munyaradzi Bidi
Munyaradzi Bidi is the National Director emeritus of the Zimbabwe Human Rights Association (ZimRights) and a recipient of the Young African Leader Award. Munyaradzi Bidi studied Defence and Security Management with Wits University in conjunction with the University of Zimbabwe. He holds certificates in Human Rights Law, Project Management, Finance for Non-Financial Managers, certificate in Electoral Corruption Management and is a competent certified stenographer with an HND in Secretarial Studies. He is a human rights defender, an entrepreneur, philanthropist and a qualified Master Guide. Mr Bidi is a self-motivated changemaker, who is widely traveled with interests in community development and citizen capacity building. He is founder of Black Dawg Studios, an innovative charity cyberhub using pioneering technology to bridge the digital divide in the rural areas.
Allan Chaumba
Allan Chaumba has an LLB (Rhodes), and LLM (UCT). He has over ten years of working experience in the democracy, governance, and human rights sector across Southern Africa. He has technical legal expertise on legal/ policy research, analysis, advocacy,, civil society capacity building and multi- stakeholder collaborations with coalitions, local communities, government, regional bodies, and private sector. He has previously worked for the Legal Resources Foundation, Zimbabwe Environmental Law Association among others, He has consulted extensively for entities like Corruption Watch, Transparency International and the Zoological Society of London among others.
