Zimbabwe Community Empowerment Project

As a pilot project, funded by the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI), ACT-SA empowered several communities in Zimbabwe to monitor report and take action against corruption, mal-administration and bad service delivery.

In areas targeted, communities were organized into what are called Community Anti-Corruption Monitoring Voluntary Action Groups (VAGs). Each VAG comprises at least 10 members to a maximum of 30 members. Empowered communities, were drawn from

  • Masvingo
  • Mutare
  • Harare
  • Chinhoyi
  • Victoria Falls
  • Bulawayo and
  • Beitbridge.
